Cruise the Information Highway to These Voter Information Destinations

The Internet is the perfect place both to get informed and to get active this election season. Here are a few helpful Web sites to get you on your way to becoming an informed parent and voter.

www.edreform.com  The Center for Education Reform's web site's Election Center has a whole host of information on questions to ask you candidates and what their answers mean for your child, as well as updated profiles of many candidates across the country.

www.fec.gov The official site of the United States Federal Election Commission (FEC) provides valuable information on how elections work, instructions and deadlines to registering to vote in your state and dates for your upcoming primary and general election.

www.Vote411.org: Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund in October of 2006, VOTE411 a "one-stop-shop" for election related information, with general and state-specific information on myriad aspects of the election process.

www.politics1.com The self-proclaimed "most comprehensive guide to American politics" provides information on the latest poll results, candidate profiles, links to campaign sites and ways for your to get involved first hand in campaigns.

www.opensecrets.org Where is your candidate's money coming from? The Center for Responsive Politics' Web site will tell you who's making campaign contributions, and to whom!

www.rockthevote.com Check our MTV's political universe (and bring your teenagers with you). This hip site uses Web logs or "blogs" to keep politics personal, provides updates on races across the country and plenty of tips for getting involved.

www.c-span.org Get the facts. CSPAN provides up-to-the-minute coverage straight from the campaign trail, political issue papers, and key contact information.

www.kidsvotingusa.org Kids Voting USA provides opportunities for you children in your community learn about democracy and politics. It even provides special "teachers only" materials and resources for the classroom.
