The Digital Content Manager will develop and distribute social and web communications (text, podcast and video) and ad campaigns as well as track and optimize performance/engagement metrics. Responsible for generating regular analytics reports and using data to continually optimize campaigns to drive awareness and boost engagement. Web management includes timely import of new content as well as supporting design and maintenance of CER site to deliver superior user experience. This individual works closely with the Director of Communications on assigned projects and across policy and program initiatives. In addition to being highly organized, the qualified candidate should be skilled in all technical aspects of social media outreach, digital advertising, advocacy and traditional communications. Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads, Landing pages, YouTube, WordPress, HTML, TweetDeck, PowerPoint, Cision, Asana and Slack preferred. Expert-level knowledge of Excel a plus.

The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, resourceful problem solver with a high degree of accuracy and deadline-driven performance. The Digital Content Manager will be a trusted team member who will play an important role in the operation and growth of our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage CER communications content including digital distribution of advocacy and program materials, social media, e-newsletters, press releases, presentations and other communications as assigned.
  • Increase general public awareness and target audience engagement of CER through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, YouTube as well as monitor social media.
  • Provide organization-wide technical assistance.
  • Facilitate communication between organization and key stakeholders.
  • Use project management tools to keep track of team progress toward goals.
  • Support the execution of advocacy initiatives, outreach events and campaigns.
  • Research and efficiently integrate new communications technologies, platforms and applications.
  • Follow CER internal procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED

  • Knowledge and understanding of education reform issues is required.
  • Commitment to school choice.
  • Bachelor’s degree, plus at least four years of experience in digital media, and/or a related field.
  • Strong proofreading and digital layout skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling/publishing tools.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work collaboratively with staff, other organizations, and the public.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as well as other productivity focused tools.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and diverse array of contacts.
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
