New Mexico Denies Exceptional School Expansion

WASHINGTON, D.C., (June 5, 2020) — Today, in Forbes, CER Founder & CEO Jeanne Allen reveals what and how a New Mexico agency unfairly denied the Mission Achievement and Success Charter School, an A Rated charter school, expansion. With a student body more than 90%  percent minority, MAS was aiming to serve the more than 1,000 students on its waiting list.
“There should be no reason that any governmental agency tasked with approving and overseeing the creation and expansion of charter schools – would deny families for whom education is the great equalizer,” Allen wrote.
