Cris Gulacy-Worrel

Cris Gulacy-Worrel serves as Vice President at Oakmont Education, a pioneering network transforming lives through innovative dropout recovery programs. At Oakmont, she helps lead their distinctive work-based career technical education approach, which integrates hands-on vocational training with academic instruction. This model equips students with both diplomas and industry-recognized credentials for immediate workforce entry. Under her leadership, Oakmont Education was recognized as a 2022 Yass Prize Finalist for excellence in educational innovation.

With an M.P.A. in public policy from Northwestern University specializing in policy, she brings expert knowledge in charter school policy, finance, development, and administration. Her background includes valuable experience at the Ohio Department of Education, where she specialized in charter school funding, policy, and legislative affairs. Cris currently serves as founding board member and Board Chair of the Freedom Coalition for Charter Schools and sits on Ohio Governor Mike Wine’s Dropout Recovery Task Force, helping shape statewide policies to support at-promise students.
