Considered the “Pulitzer of Education Innovation”, the Yass Prize rewards outstanding and transformational education providers and schools

WASHINGTON DC — Seeking the best in education innovation and excellence, the Center for Education Reform (CER) announced that the 2025 application window for the $1 million Yass Prize is almost half way over. Submissions are due by July 15th via YassPrize.org. The application process is considered beneficial for education leaders and is estimated to take between 3 to 5 hours to complete.

The Yass Prize is devoted to fueling, connecting, and accelerating education leaders recognized for their commitment to the STOP principles, who together represent a microcosm of the country’s most exceptional and entrepreneurial education providers.

From among the applications, a cohort will be chosen in early October to attend an exclusive, high impact accelerator. There they will build and develop their plans for expansion and innovation with support from the best, boldest, and brightest of business and education, and then pitch for the final prize which will be announced December 4th at the annual Power of Innovation Summit in Washington DC.

All alumni of the program also gain valuable learning experiences, connections and resources in education, policy and the media that help them grow their work, their networks and their impact on education.

“The Yass Prize is not just an award — it’s a movement,” said Jeanne Allen, founder and CEO of the Center for Education Reform. “We are proud to partner in identifying and elevating the next generation of education changemakers. These innovators are proving what’s possible when we put students first and remove barriers to bold, transformative ideas.”

About the Prize:

The Yass Prize began in 2021 to reward education providers who over-performed for under-served students during COVID in Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding, and Permissionless ways. Since that time it has grown into a distinguished education program that has invested more than $50 million in over 200 organizations serving over 14 million students.
