About the Role

The Executive Assistant and Events Support role is a critical operational position that ensures seamless coordination across the Yass Prize programs and events, one of the major tentpole programs powered by the Center for Education Reform. This individual will support day-to-day logistics, including travel arrangements, vendor coordination, event preparation, document accuracy, and operational follow-through.

This is an excellent role for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys making systems run smoothly, supporting the success of events, and ensuring operational excellence in a mission-driven environment.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Executive & Operational Support
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Program Officer and the Yass Prize program team
  • Make and manage reservations, including flights, hotels, restaurants, and ground transportation.
  • Coordinate with vendors for food service, event supplies, printed materials, and other logistical needs for key events during the year.
  • Track orders, shipping, deliveries, and inventory.
  • Assist with gathering contacts, reviewing information for accuracy, and updating databases.
  • Maintain organized digital files, spreadsheets, and event documentation.
  • Assist with preparing and publishing written content (e.g., Substack posts), including copyediting, formatting, and securing proof approvals.
  • Remain actively engaged in Slack and Asana with task updates and real time communication to support team coordination. 
2. Event Support
  • Assist with planning and execution of the Yass Prize events – such as roadshows, the virtual and in-person accelerator, the Power of Innovation Summit, and more – including:
    • guest list coordination
    • event supplies and materials
    • vendor communication
    • setup support (virtual and in-person)
    • follow-up tasks
  • Support the team on-site at select events, as needed.
3. General Administrative Support
  • Prepare simple materials or summaries as requested.
  • Monitor shared inboxes, calendars, and communication channels for operational needs.
  • Help maintain smooth remote operations — ordering supplies, managing shipments, and coordinating with team members.
  • Provide additional project support as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1–4 years of administrative or operations experience ideal.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and follow-through skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technologically fluent — especially with Google Workspace; familiarity with Salesforce, Asana and Slack is a plus.
  • Experience with event coordination or vendor management preferred.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to CER and the Yass Prize mission and values.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $75,000–$80,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Full benefits: health, dental, vision, and PTO.
  • Fully remote position with occasional travel for events.
