Governor

Governor-Elect Ron DeSantis (R)

Former Governor Jeb Bush was one of the first elected officials to openly and aggressively support alternative learning paths for students stuck in failing schools, so almost Governor-elect Congressman Ron DeSantis has big shoes to fill (assuming he pulls ahead in the current recount). His past positions in support of new educational thinking indicate he is ready to do so, and his background shows he is capable of combat – he earned a Bronze Star in Iraq and is a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corp. The education establishment – we like to call it “The Blob” – will once again be up against a fighter, and a winner, in Tallahassee.
