Oklahoma

Governor

Governor-Elect Kevin Stitt (R)

Businessman and Governor-elect Kevin Stitt supports charter schools with what he describes as “adequate accountability”. The devil could be in the details of that description of course, and CER will make sure the Governor has access to the excellent accountability records of charter schools in the Sooner state and across the country. He is a strong supporter of using technology and some virtual-schooling to bring education to the more rural parts of the state. But will he do more to reduce disparities in educational excellence as a result of zip code zoning? Oklahoma is not OK.
