Rhode Island

Governor

Governor Gina Raimondo (D)

Re-elected Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo is a stand-up and stand-out leader for creative alternatives in education. She made Rhode Island the first state to teach computer science in every school. She realizes that college must become more relevant to students and education should pave the way for students to graduate with advanced skills and ready to compete for in-demand jobs. As Governor she expanded various career education opportunities, enabling high schoolers to graduate with additional degrees, certifications and licensures, prepared to join the workforce immediately. The union has never been her biggest fan, and for that, we are grateful.
