Jeanne Allen, CEO of the Center for Education Reform — an organization that advocates for school choice — praised Cassidy, saying she has “never known a chair of this committee, or of any committee, frankly, in the House or Senate, who has been willing to be this bold and, and this assertive in getting issues in front of his colleagues.”
Allen told your host she doesn’t expect to see Cassidy change his approach in the coming months. She hopes that whoever becomes chair will bring in a diverse range of people in education to testify in front of the committee and will show initiative in “getting the Department of Education out of the business of education day to day.”
