Governor

Governor-Elect Kristi Noem(R)

Congresswoman and Governor-elect Kristi Noem is a font of great ideas.  She promises “protect the rights of parents to choose the educational path that’s best for their child, whether it’s homeschooling, public schooling, or a private education.” She agrees with us that education policy should be judged on student success, not how much money is spent. She wants to establish a merit system to determine teacher pay, as she puts it “to reward rock star teachers”. She echews “federal over reach,” wants to expand civics and American history courses and make passing the U.S. citizenship test a criteria for high school graduation.  All we can say is go, girl, go!
